Pray for Sydney at Children's Hospital of Minnesota as she battles complications of Scimitar Syndrome.
Late last night, I received a prayer request from Gail Levine asking for prayers for a friend’s child, Sydney. Gail writes:
“Sylvie is a special woman, and it breaks my heart to watch her daughter struggle with so many operations, procedures, and heartbreak–especially as I sit here cuddling with my newborn twins at home…Bringing Sydney home healthy is what I want most for her!”
Gail asked me to view Sydney’s Caring Bridge website to learn more about her story. There, I learned that like my Nathan, Sydney has Scimitar Syndrome. She is currently at Children’s Hospital in Minnesota where her family and friends are prayerfully seeking healing.
Their journal entries are beautiful testimonies to the loving struggle parents of children with congenital heart defects endure with determination. While reading some of their story, I found myself particularly choked up when I read:
I apologize I can’t speak in more general terms anymore… [I] sound so medical, but this is my life, and it has a new language. The bottom line is that God needs to take over to make her better where medicine cannot. I have complete faith, and I remain hopeful. And I will never give up on my baby. I ask you all to continue praying for her health and improvement. I will take her home one day. She has such a will to live.
Sylvie has enthusiastically given me permission to share this site on Nathan’s Prayer. She needs your prayers.
