Nathan Invents Chanilla Ice Cream

Not to be outdone by brother Adam (the biomedical engineer who invents stuff), Nathan has created an invention of his own.  He directed his dad to place scoops of chocolate and vanilla ice cream into his bowl and declared that he had invented chanilla ice cream.

“The cha- is from chocolate,” he explained, “and the -nilla is from vanilla.”

I see…

“I like the way that sounds,” he continued.  “Kinda like chinchilla.”

“Oh,” I said.  “Do you know what a chinchilla is?”

“Sure,” he said.  “It’s an animal…looks like a cross between a rat and a rabbit.”

Hmmm.  Come to think of it, it does.  “Chanilla…” I said.  “Of course.”

“I almost went with Vocolate.”
