In a recent article about the misadventures of our family dogs, Dallas and Daisy, I described the problem we were having keeping them from digging under the fence.  I happily reported that we cured their great escapes by running an electric wire along the bottom of the fence.  “Worked like a charm” are the words I used.

Perhaps, we should consider changing their names from Dallas and Daisy to Houdini and David Copperfield, because the rascals escaped today.  Best we can tell, the wire is still alive.  That’s what the ohmmeter shows.

We’re still scratching our heads.  I guess it’s possible to dig the hole and scoot under soooo low that the dogs didn’t touch the wire.  Surely, they aren’t that smart.  Or that flexible.
